4. An Octomom

An octomom, Nadia Sulaiman, has given birth to 8 childeren although she already had 6. She is not married and her 14 children are from her boyfriend. She doesn't have an occupation and a college degree, so she is unemployed. When I watched a video about this lady, I was shocked. Her house was like a playground; 8 babies (Linda says she has to buy 4 gallons of milk for the babies everyday) waiting to be fed and each crying. She has organized 2 rooms full of toys and a playpen in the garden for the children to play. Because she is unemployed, now she is in lack of money so she decided to take part in a reality show. Her house will be watched 24 hours. People say that she is selfish because she is trying to make money over her children. I really wonder if the show will help bring up her family.

3. Lena

I remembered the story of Azucena when I first saw this picture. This 5-year-old girl is unaware of the situation. Though the Tropical Storm Eduard has caused a disaster, Lena is trying to swim in the water surrounding her house and she seems to be quite happy. Her parents may be busy with taking the water out of their house or they may be looking for their furnitures washed away.

2. Swine flu

Nowadays, we hear and read about swine flu everywhere. I wondered why it's so popular and I learned that a different version of this flu has first came out in Spain as Spanish Flu in 1918 and it killed 50 to 100 million people as I read from the wikipedia. This time in 2009 it is first seen in Mexico and it is now in Turkey. Doctors say that we don't have to worry about it too much because it is just as risky as the other types of flu. All we have to do is to take care and be careful in the public areas as not to get the flu..

1.Why are we so into watching reality shows

Although we usually deny watching reality shows, i think we all watch these programs, as ratings show, which we find foolish. I think it's a bit weird to watch people wining big prizes without doing anything or looking for a date or for the person they would spend the rest of their life on a tv programme; but we all do this even if we watch to have an idea to talk about these. This may be because most of the people want to see how the others live and at the end of the day they are satisfied to see that everyone has problems in private. Some people are so addicted to these shows such as Big Brother that they consider the competitors as their friends or see them as members of their family. I think these reality shows are a big threat on people's psychology because they take them too serious and they don't just watch for fun. As a result, people are becoming more addicted and they can't stand a life without these shows. I can't really imagine how it will be in several years..
